Abby is now 3 months old and we had a very busy October with her including a pumpkin patch outing, her baptism, and her 1st halloween! She has become very alert and developed a social smile over the past month, which absolutely will melt your heart when you see it! She is doing just great with her developement too. At her last doctors appt, she weighed 12 lbs 9 oz and was 23 inches long -- making her 75th percentile in both weight AND length!! Based on these numbers, we're thinking she will probably have the Walton frame!! She is still changing daily, but continues to look like a mini - Perry! It is too cute how much she looks just like her daddy! Perry and I are having such a blast with her and just adore watching her new discoveries daily, which have included the tv, tucker, and the color red most recently! Abigail Grace - July 28, 2010

Abigail made her big arrival on July 28, 2010 at 4:05pm. She weighed 7lb 15oz and measured 21 inches in length! She has been an absolute joy and blessing to our household! Here are some of her newborn pictures...she was 5 days old in these pictures. What a doll!

Well, I'm back to attempting the blog world after over a year! Sorry for the absence, but glad to be back and now with more to talk about than just our small family of Perry, Nicole and Tucker! This pink font is dedicated to our soon to arrive daughter, Abigail Grace!! We are so excited to expand our Walton clan by one more with a sweet a little girl! She is due to arrive August 8th, however we have our suspicions (and mostly my hopes) that she will make her grand debut a little earlier than that. We are still living in Augusta, Georgia and surviving this summer heat is tough enough but has become almost unbearable at 36 weeks pregnant now!! In case you haven't seen us in awhile, I have posted a few maternity photos for your viewing as well as one of my favorite 3D pics of little Abby at approximately 28 weeks preggo. Seeing her little face in 3D makes us even more anxious to meet her! We think she looks just like Perry from nose down...but we would love to know your opinion too! I hope this finds you well and we look forward to sharing more exciting news with you as it comes!

A National Holiday recognized for Augusta, GA...Masters Week

Hi All! Sorry I have been so terrible at blogging...my only excuse is, it's new for me! Anyway, I felt compelled to write a little note on Masters Week as it is THE most popular and ONLY event Augusta, GA is known for and we're right in the middle of it now! As February rolls around each year, we Augustans already begin to see the changes and improvements being made around the city to prepare for dah, dah, dah...MASTERS WEEK! It's as if Augusta goes on this world wind cleaning spree to beautify this southern city for all who travel here once a year for the Masters golf tournament. I must admit that even I am guilty of this. Example - one week before Masters, my husband and I decide we need to re-carpet our entire house, pull all the weeds in the yard, get new flowers planted, etc. etc. It's weird, because we live with the nasty carpet and overgrown bushes all year, but as Masters week approaches, we feel completely compelled to clean things up and beautify our house along with the city! After the business and chaos of preparing for Masters week is complete, a whole new set of stress falls on the city as thousands (I'm guessing) travel in to rent homes in order to view/be a part of this most popular sporting event. The city literally goes into national holiday/vacation mode...schools are on break, businesses shut down, and MOST people actually leave town. For those of us who are not fortunate enough to be on a true vacation - life is interesting here among all of the golf fans. Our small airport is filled with private jets, large passenger vans are seen everywhere holding middle aged men wearing their fanciest golf attire, travel time to work doubles and Club Car golf carts are on display on every corner! A whole new vibe is felt by everyone - as if Augusta is kind of a cool place to be! :) Now, I am not one to be considered a big golf fan, or having true love for the game. In fact, I think the only two popular golfers I can name are Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson (?sp). But I must say that walking into Augusta National will take your breath away! It's like walking into a different world where everything is beautiful. All the leaves and grass are bright green and trimmed perfectly, flowers are bloomed and rich in color. There isn't one flaw on the entire course. And even me, not a golf fan, suddenly becomes infatuated with following the golfers, watching the game, wanting an autograph and to catch even a glimpse of the most popular golfers. I even get the desire to buy masters paraphenalia - no matter the price. It's intoxicating really! In only 5 short days, however, the excitement and intrigue of Masters Week will be over and life will resume to normal for another 10 months until preparations begin once again. It's quite the experience and truly a special event for this small southern city. I encourage anyone who reads this blog to strongly consider coming out atleast once in your lifetime to take in the experience of Masters Week!

Tucker

Well I thought Tucker deserved his own area of our blog as he is a BIG part of our family and happiness! :) He is not a pure bred wheaten terrier, but rather what I like to call a wheatable. We adopted Tucker from a rescue in Kansas City, Missouri named S'Wheat rescues. Their entire mission is to save as many wheaten terriers as possible. We knew we wanted a wheaten terrier pup and were hoping to rescue one as opposed to buy from a puppy mill/pet store and thus, found S'Wheat rescue. After browsing their website for several months, his picture appeared one day and I knew he would be perfect for us! Tucker is now 3 and will celebrate his 4th birthday on May 5th! He went through some interesting/difficult times as a pup, but is now very well mannered and a pure joy for us to have around. He goes to doggy day care atleast once a week to get some socialization and play time in as we work +70 hrs/week on average. He loves to play chase with other dogs, no matter what their size and can fetch just about any specific toy of his you name. I hope you enjoyed this post on Tucker! He's our baby and in our humble opinion...world's greatest dog!

The Walton Family Story

Hi! You are visiting the page of Perry and Nicole Walton. Our story begins in Kansas City, Missouri - Spring 2003. We met in medical school, fell in love and got married New Years Eve 2005. Our only son is our wheaten terrier, Tucker, who we rescued in KC a few months before our wedding. After medical school, we moved to Augusta, Georgia for residency training. Perry is finishing his last few months of Emergency Medicine residency and Nicole is in her second year of Internal Medicine. After completion of residency, Nicole will be doing a chief medical resident year in Augusta followed by a fellowship in Rheumatology (joint/autoimmune diseases). Our hobbies and interest include spending time with family/friends, traveling, and outdoor activities and adventures. We hope you enjoy viewing our page and please keep in touch!
